# Claude–Grok reconciliation Both frozen studies agree that a Value Stream has independent identity and lifecycle, while internal/external are roles relative to a governed Enterprise boundary. They also agree that stages are contained value-state transitions; maps, portfolios, landscapes and journeys are views; processes and executions are realizers; and observed outcomes, benefits, propositions and exchanges must not be collapsed into the stream root. Claude concluded that Value Stream is the only mandatory new root and asked for demonstrated governance before promoting realization. Grok demonstrated that a realization binding can be independently owned, transferred, reviewed, superseded and retired while the reusable stream definition remains unchanged. The local decision therefore allocates both roots, with Value Stream Realization retained as a reviewable candidate until field use confirms that ownership and transfer test. Business Capability, Capability Realization and Metric Definition passed or approached independent identity tests in earlier contour studies. They remain separately governed candidates and are not duplicated by this study. Primary standards were used to calibrate the boundary: OMG VDML for value creation and exchange semantics, and APQC PCF for the distinction between value streams and process decomposition. Claude and Grok received the same frozen dossier and had no tools.
