Purpose This document defines Federation Profiles, a mechanism for standardizing semantic federation within specific domains while preserving the generic principles of the Meta-Universe Federation Protocol (MUFP). Federation Profiles enable interoperable collaboration without requiring every federation to negotiate every semantic detail from first principles. Federation Profiles are what turn MUFP from a *specification* into an *ecosystem*. The base standard stays universal; the particular behaviour of an industry or scenario lives in a profile; and a market of compatible profiles emerges around the unchanged core. --- # 2. This separation has a deliberate consequence: - MUFP stays universal; it is not amended to accommodate any one industry. - Organizations, consortia and communities MAY publish their own profiles **without changing the base standard**. - Because every profile shares the same base, profiles are mutually intelligible: a participant that understands MUFP can read, negotiate and adopt any conformant profile. The result is that a **market of compatible profiles** emerges around an unchanged core. It is this market — not the base specification alone — that makes the Meta-Universe an ecosystem rather than a document.
